Celebrate World Bee Day 2021 with the United Nations on 20th May.  It is held on this date to honour the birth date of Anton Janša, the pioneer of modern beekeeping.

The fact that bees are dying at an alarming rate is a massive concern to the world’s population. There is no life without bees and the pollination services that bees naturally provide us with are invaluable. Without them, not only would honey supplies be down, but basic crops like apples would be threatened. Albert Einstein famously said that “if the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live”. 

The purpose of World Bee Day is to raise awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping and inform the public of major beekeeping events around the world so that they can celebrate World Bee Day! Direct Mail Marketing: Reaching Customers at Home During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The COVID-19 crisis has meant that many businesses finished the first quarter of the year in a very different position than expected. Thriving brands are now finding that they’re having to adapt quickly in order to survive. If marketing budget is usually spent on events or outdoor advertising it may be better spent diverted into a direct mail campaigns.

Keeping The Bees Buzzing With Seedballs

The fact that bees are dying at an alarming rate may be one of your favourite memes on the internet, but the wellbeing of bees really is a massive concern. The pollination services that bees naturally provide us with are invaluable. Without enough bees, not only would honey supplies be down, but basic crops like apples would be threatened.

But why are we telling you all of this? Well, we’re determined to do what we can to help. Interestingly enough, one of the best things you can do to help sustain the bee population is to simply plant wildflowers! That’s where our seed-based products come in.

 

One of our favourite (and by far the most fun) ways to plant wildflowers is with our seedballs. The tiny balls are made from a mixture of seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chili powder, which create a protective casing against seed predators. To be planted, they simply need to be scattered on fertile soil, and nature will do the rest

The best thing about our seedballs is that they come specifically in a “Bee Mix” variety. The Bee Mix seeds grow into a mix of wildflowers that are particularly good for the bees, as according to experts. Most recently, BNP Paribas used tins of our Bee Mix Seedballs as favours at a conference. Having them as favours helped spark conversation about sustainability during the event.

 

The seedballs are available in either matchbox-style sets of 8, or in tins of 20. The packages can be customised to represent a specific message from your brand. Not only will your brand be correlated with sustainable planting, but the seedballs will grow into something that consumers will tend to, look after, and affectionately associate your brand with.
