Plastic Straw Alternatives

First off, if you haven’t heard, there have recently been massive developments in the fight against plastic straws. With 28,218 stores worldwide, Starbucks is one of the world’s largest fast food chains, and they’ve just promised to phase out plastic straws by 2020! Of course, this is great news for the amount of straws that will be saved at Starbucks shops alone. Even more notably, this decision is drawing massive attention to the issue of plastic straws all over.

Bio Straws For Your Brand

Straws – talk about a current hot-button topic!  Naturally, it’s a perfect time to show your customers how much you value the environment by replacing any and all of your straw needs with our biodegradable straws. These straws are made completely from PLA, a plant-based material with 67% less embodied carbon than oil-based PP plastic. Meanwhile, our white promotional straws are made from Ecovio, a compostable plant-based material with great properties. But, unlike paper straws, they won’t break down easily and cause complaints.

Our straws are designed for commercial composting together with food waste, where facilities exist. Custom-printed biodegradable straws are available from 5 mm to 10 mm in black, white with a green stripe or in clear biodegradable plastic. Additionally, customers can even choose a custom-printed wrapper to really boost a brand’s impact.

In Other News…

Here are a couple 2018 summer highlights around the world of environmentalism (and us, of course).

What Our Clients Are Up To

Our lovely client, F Zeen Retreat, recently gave oregano seedsticks away to guests. These packs were beautifully displayed in the rooms for turn down service. Of course, the sticks could then be conveniently taken home to be planted. We love seeing all of the creative ways seedsticks can be put to use!

Sporty, Sustainable Fashion

In other news, Juventus recently revealed their third-kit design for the upcoming season created by Adidas designer Francesca Venturini . Interestingly, the jerseys are made from recycled plastic, and have been created in partnership with Parley for the Oceans. The jersey design has “eco-innovation and longevity at its very heart”.  Read more about this eco-friendly fashion here.

Reusable Bottles from Buddy Burst

Making It Easier to Banish The Bottle

Of course, it’s no secret that plastic bottles are one of the most wasteful concepts out there. Be it a water, soda or milk bottle, only 1 in 5 of each of them get recycled. Then, the rest sadly end up in the ocean, or in landfills. 1,500 every single second, to be precise. Even the plastic bottles that are BPA-free are still filled with potentially harmful chemicals. All things considered, it’s no wonder several organizations have called for a ban on the bottles.

Trendy Reusable Bottles For Your Brand

In addition to being much more environmentally friendly, drinking tap water from a reusable water bottle can be up to 2,000 times cheaper than buying plastic water bottles. Moreover, because of the popularity of these bottles, a bit of a fashion culture has recently emerged around them. By the same token, reusable bottles of all sorts of shapes, brands, and designs are now popular among eco-conscious consumers.

Designing a reusable bottle unique to your brand:

  • Reminds customers of your company’s dedication to sustainability.
  • Ensures high impressions of your brand’s message as customers will likely travel with their bottle.
  • Contributes to bringing an end to the wasteful plastic water bottle industry.
  • Provides opportunity for extremely creative designs thanks to the bottle’s large surface area.reusable alternative to plastic bottle
